BankBroker's Multi Tenant Architecture

BankBroker is a hosted software product.  Sometimes described as "SaaS", short for Software as a Service, BankBroker can be implemented very quickly because we manage all the complex stuff on the server.   You just point your browser to our site and start using the software.  But not all hosted software is the same.  Software applications that were not designed from the ground up to run on the internet often must have a separate version of the server software running for each different client using the software.  This is helpful in shifting the burden of managing the server side of the software to the software provider, but it does not reduce costs at all.  There is just as much software to manage as a traditional software model - only it's running remotely over the internet.

In a "multi-tenant" hosted software architecture, one copy of the server can serve many clients.  This server copy has essentially multiple tenants housed within it.  Now we can consolidate servers, server administrators, infrastructure licenses and the like and gain economies of scale.  We spend less, and you spend less.
